California blazes ignite a Q4 nat cat loss for The Hartford

The Hartford says it will take a hit from Q4 nat cat losses, due to its exposure in California during the recent massive Camp and Woolsey fires that will likewise affect a number of additional P&C insurers. “Due primarily to the Camp Fire in northern California, The Hartford expects fourth-quarter 2018 current accident year net catastrophe impacts, before tax, of $350m to $365m,” the insurer said in a statement.
